The project is also inline with the JCI goals and objectives, which is to attract new members, keep current members by making them involve, providing a positive profile to the community, attracting sponsors and partners and to get support. JCI Womandaue is now ready to take the challenge and live the JCI Creed.  Now we invite you to witness the induction of JCI Womandaue this March 9, 2012 , 6PM at Oakridge Pavilion.

During the event we were able to stage our live streaming as part of our innovative program for our chapter and we believe that we are the first one to broadcast a live streaming of the event. Last February 11, 2011, JCI Mandaue hosted the JCI Trainer Course which was facilitated by JCI Senator Gleendo Dasmariñas at Cebu Mary Immaculate College in Talamban Cebu City.  The course was successfully completed by 13 JCI Members of different JCI Local Organizations.  The newly version of JCI Trainer Course was presented which is the version 8 was pioneered by the volunteers and it turned out to be effective. From the original 12 module course it was trimmed down to 9 module course where application and feedback of the course were immediately applied.

So to welcome our new JCI Trainers of JCI Mandaue, we congratulate 2012 JCI Mandaue President Michael Villanueva, JCI Members Garry Garceso, Ramil Montealto, Paul Villacorta and Darrell Cerna.  Congratulations to 2012 JCI Sinulog President Patrick Yared, JCI Member Nicolas Briones of JCI Sugbo, JCI Members Maria Lucita Napata, Victor Sesmundo Recana III, Jay Carl Del Rosario, Riza Pelaez, Caesar Laro and Patrick Henry Perez II of JCI Cebu-Mactan Channel. Central Visayas RVP Carlos Porras was also present during the Presentation of the JCI Trainers.

This free concert is organized to enjoin the public to do their share and drop off their donations in cash and in kind at the stations that will be set up at the Activity Center on that day.

As of today, the following items have been identified as the immediate needs of the victims at the evacuation centers:

In this regard, we would like to knock on your kind hearts for any donations that you can send. You can drop them off at the MCCI Office anytime or at Ayala Activity Center on December 24 from 10:00am –2:00pm. Likewise, PLDT SME SWUP (ATM, Credit Card Swipe) Stations will be available for the public should they want to donate through their credit or debit cards.

We are now on our second year and Mandaue City is once again selected for the second time to be one of the beneficiaries. We have identified Barangay Looc as the project site and allocated Vitamin A and De-Worming capsules for 500 children beneficiaries.

JCI Mandaue, in coordination with the national JCI organization and various heavyweight corporate sponsors including PMFTC Inc., implemented , a vitamin A supplementation project that aims to curb the incidence of eyesight-related ailments in young, growing school children.

Vitamin A deficiency is a serious problem in developing countries such as the Philippines. The effects of vitamin A deficiency include night blindness, impaired immune function, susceptibility to infections, and poor bone development. Severe deficiency has been proven to result in complete blindness and death in young children.

KALINGA SA BAYAN : BANTAYAN ISLAND, Cebu

1. Building of homes Experience building a house from laying its foundation to attaching its roof, painting and landscaping.
2. Paraisong Pambata Fun and learning with children aged 6 to 10 years old and participate in feeding program, story-telling, games, conducting Sports Clinic for the children.
3. School Build Refurbish and repair public school through painting, landscaping, repairing tables and chairs.
4. Island Greening Volunteers caring for the environment through coastal cleanup, mangrove planting and tree planting to be conducted in tourist spots, town plazas, landmarks, playgrounds, etc. all over the island in order to preserve the environment.
5. Farm Build Volunteers set up the farm’s infrastructure such as fences, compost sheds & family plot markers.
6. Health Build Up: Needs volunteers to conduct a nutrition program, medical check-up and consultancy covering different barangays. A healthy people is a healthy nation.

We will cap off each spirited and fulfilling day with the following activities:

Beach Competitions After a hard day’s work the volunteers will be treated to various beach competitions like Dodge ball, Beach volleyball, Beach soccer, Frisbee and Pinoy games. These are fun activities that foster team work and good sportsmanship.

Blogging Rights Day Sharing of experiences and stories of heroism that inspire.

Empowerment Talks After-dinner talks and sessions to process the experience and harness the heroism in everyone for nation building.

Fellowship Night Brings together the volunteers for a night of celebration and commitment.

Plus this year we will be hosting a series of KALINGA SA BAYAN SPECIAL EVENTS:

• BAYANIHAN RACE Teams will compete in a unique race around the island.
• MASTER KUSINERO The team who cooks the best dish using an endemic ingredient from the island will be rewarded a prize.
• CONCERT To culminate the event, we will have festivities that include bands and other activities to celebrate a successful Bayani Challenge.

This year’s Bayani Challenge will prove to be an exciting one with all the different activities happening simultaneously on the island.
