In its never-ending quest to provide opportunities to the youth to discover and develop their full potential to be better active citizens, JCI Mandaue is embarking on its 3rd Mandaue City Alay Lakad, a walkathon that aims to raise funds to send deserving kids to high school and college. The Alay Lakad also encompasses various seminars and training programs designed to help the beneficiaries improve themselves on all levels.

JCI Mandaue proved to be the best thing that has happened to Alay Lakad since the Alay Lakad itself. In the 3 years it has spearheaded the project, funding has increased by over tenfold. Before JCI Mandaue took over the management of the Alay Lakad, funds were in a dismal state and barely sufficient to send the students to high school. Now, for 2010, JCI Mandaue expects to hit almost a million pesos in funding. With the increased funding, the Alay Lakad expects to increase the number of beneficiaries from 10 students per year to 20 students per year. Also, the program has been expanded to send deserving high school students to college!
