Public Health Train
VISION:
To uphold the JCI Tenet that Service to Humanity is the best work of life, with respect to the overall improvement of public health in the communities of Mandaue City and the surrounding cities and provinces without preference.
MISSION:
- To conduct a annual to semi-annual blood drive for the augment the constantly depleted blood supply for transfusion in the City.
- To provide for the March 15, 2010 Sitio Aroma fire victims safe and clean drinking water, clothing, cookware and utensils, and construction materials that could be used for reconstructing the homes. To provide further other basic needs such as medical care and distribution of relief goods through the Mandaue City Government.
- To safely perform surgical circumcision on uncircumcised children at Maguikay, Mandaue city, as part of JCI Mandaue’s Public Health Train.
- To conduct a massive medical, surgical, dental, ophthalmic,general wellness, and Stream Smiles Pre-screening for prospective number of four to five thousand individuals from the City of Mandaue and the surrounding province.
Benefit to the Community
Upholding the JCI Creed in that Service to Humanity is the best work of life, with respect to the overall improvement of public health in the communities of Mandaue City and the surrounding cities and provinces without preference, JCI Mandaue was able to serve the following beneficiaries:
- JCI Blood Drive 2010 – The City Health Blood Bank and the recipients for more than 40 donated blood packs from JCI Mandaue Members and students of USC Main.
- Tabang Aroma – More than 2,923 fire victims in a community of 237 affected renters, 24 sharers, 458 house owners, and 719 families in the community of Sitio Aroma Mandaue City
- Circumcision Surgical Series – 50 male children from the surrounding communities of Brgy. Maguikay Mandaue City who were successfully circumcised.
Our plans for Abag Sa Mandauehanon 2010 – includes a gigantic preparation of staff, medications, and surgical facilities to acco a prospective number of four to five thousand individuals from the City of Mandaue and the surrounding province who will undergo Medical, Surgical, Dental, Optical, and Stream Smiles pre-screening come Sept. 18, 2010.
It is our intention to continue this project annually at more frequent intervals and benefit the community via a semi-annual blood drive for the augment the constantly depleted blood supply for transfusion in the City, to act as a disaster coordination committee in light of the discovery of conditions of the Sitio Aroma fire victims as they tried to rebuild their homes after the tragedy, to act as implementors of annual or bi-anual drives to safely perform surgical circumcision on uncircumcised children in the province of Cebu, and to do frequent medical, surgical, dental, ophthalmic, and general wellness clinics on a more frequent periodic basis.
