JCI Mandaue organized a Superhero Christmas party at the newly turned over Barangay Guizo Daycare Centre. The children of this fire relocation site were able to meet, play and take pictures with their favourite superheroes like Ironman, Black Panther, Starlord, Antman and Loki. The Christmas party also had some games with prizes, some dance performances by the kids, feeding of meals and desserts, and lastly their Christmas present from the Merry Men of JCI Mandaue and from our visitors from the Gwangjeong Church, the Presbyterian Church of South Korea.

One of the main objective is to give the children of Guizo Fire Relocation Site, a Christmas Celebration to remember.

1. For the visitors from Gwangjeong Church of Korea to see the newly built Daycare Centre.
2. For them to meet the potential students of the Daycare Centre accompanied by their parents.
3. To make the children happy by giving them an experience that they don’t usually have, which is to meet their favourite superheroes in the flesh.
4. It Christmas so all these kids deserve to eat their hearts out, play games, eat sweets and go home with a bunch of goodies to keep them excited and happy over the holidays.

While waiting for the program to start, we had a few games with prizes to keep the kids entertained. The program started with a speech from Vice Mayor Carlo Fortuna, Barangay Captain Jesus Neri, CSWS Officer in Charge Jessie Perez, and our very own Immediate Past President Andrew Tae and then the 2018 VP for Community Development Nike Cagulada. Then all the Superheroes came out to surprise the kids, the kids were all given an opportunity to play with them and take pictures. The visitors from Korea also participated in the activity by distributing the the meals, the ice cream and the Christmas presents or loot bags for a total of 150 children.

As one of the major sponsors for our Daycare Centers, our brothers from Gwangjeong Church of Korea were able to see the Barangay Guizo Daycare Centre for the first time. They were assured that their donations went into a good purpose, with a very impactful and long-term program. They were also guaranteed that we plan to sustain our Daycare Centers by consistently providing new programs that creates new opportunities for learning and growth for these young kids during their formative years. For the 150 children who attended this project, this experience is something new and memorable for them and our mission to make them happy for Christmas was accomplished.
