Hudyaka sa Mandaue: Celebrating Heritage, Crarftsmanship, and Merrymaking!

Last March 15, 2025, we celebrated 𝙃𝙪𝙙𝙮𝙖𝙠𝙖 𝙨𝙖 𝙈𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙖𝙪𝙚—an explosion of culture, food, craftsmanship, and community—as part of JCI Mandaue’s 62nd anniversary!

𝗛𝘂𝗱𝘆𝗮𝗸𝗮 means 𝙛𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙞𝙩𝙮, 𝙢𝙚𝙧𝙧𝙮𝙢𝙖𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙥𝙪𝙧𝙚 𝙟𝙤𝙮—everything that makes Mandaue a city like no other! From indulging in Cebuano flavors to showcasing the artistry of our craftsmen and the energy of our festival dances, this event truly embodied the spirit of innovation while honoring our roots.

The day kicked off with a sumptuous feast at No Problem STK, followed by an insightful plant visit to IPI, where we saw a proud Cebuano brand up close and witnessed firsthand how its products are made. We then explored Barangay Casili’s bamboo showcase, highlighting sustainable craftsmanship. A refreshing stop at 438 Café treated us to a fine local brew before heading to Barangay Paknaan, where we celebrated the Silhig Festival—a tribute to the iconic handmade Cebuano broom. Participants had the chance to experience the art of broom-making and appreciate the deep cultural significance behind this everyday household item. The day ended at City Hall, joining the lively Panagtagbo sa Mandaue, a festive gathering filled with music, dance, and community spirit!

We were honored to welcome almost 40 JCI delegates from across the Philippines and beyond, including JCI Bataan, JCI Bai Lawanen, Jci Olongapo, JCI Lipa, JCI Subic Lambat, JCI Boholana Kisses, JCI Regatta – Iloilo, JCI Cebu, and JCI Samcheonpo – Korea!

A huge thank you to our sponsors and partners: Mandaue City Government, Mandaue Investment Promotions Tourism Action Center, Mandaue City Public Information Office, Barangay Paknaan, Barangay Casili, Sugbo. ph, IPI, No Problem STK, and Stomping Café for making this celebration an unforgettable experience!
