JCI Mandaue’s Sagop Bakhaw: Adopt-A-Mangrove Program is back on its second year. This award winning initiative aims to build, rehabilitate, and restore the diminishing bakhaw forest and coastal ecosystem of Cebu by adopting bakhaw propagules.
Last November 26, 2022, JCI Mandaue together with our partner Barangay Sta. Rosa, Olango Island, Lapu-Lapu City and its fisher folk communities, and through our generous sponsor FAST Laboratories, potted around 1,000 bakhaw propagules and outplant 300 grown-up bakhaws.
The team likewise conducted a coastal clean in and around the vicinity of the bakhaw forest and collected around 5 sacks of garbage.
