Last June 2023, we celebrated the remarkable second year of JCI Mandaue’s Project Ally, a significant milestone for our organization. The event was honored by the presence of the JCI Philippines National Board, led by NP Kerby and NT Nike.
We are incredibly grateful for the collaboration of various entities, including JCI WoMandaue, Cebu SK Federation, SK of Barangay San Nicolas Proper, LGU of Mandaue City, SK of Barangay Guizo, CURLS, IPI, as well as our valued term partners and sponsors.
A victorious project, exemplifying the profound impact of education, advocacy, empowerment, and support.
πππππππ – Participants gained comprehensive knowledge about LGBT-protection City ordinances and national laws, such as the Anti-Discriminatory Ordinance in Cebu City and the LGBT Code in Mandaue City. They were also informed about the health challenges faced by the LGBT community and their allies, particularly regarding HIV/AIDS, STDs, and Mental Health issues on Cebu Island.
ππππππππ – The project fostered pride and unity by commemorating the annual LGBT Pride Month. Throughout June, participants engaged in various activities and events to become advocates for equality and acceptance.
πππππππ – Project Ally 2.0 strengthened local LGBT organizations, empowering them to effectively promote their cause and expand their membership base. By providing support and resources, these organizations can better advocate for the rights and well-being of the LGBT community.
πππππππ – Participants received vocational skills training from highly skilled trainers, uplifting their livelihoods. With valuable vocational skills, Project Ally 2.0 empowered individuals to pursue sustainable economic opportunities and enhance their quality of life.
