Project Chair: Sam Uy

On May 28, 2019, JCI Mandaue hosted the “Project School is Cool Bags, Food and Playtime for 500 Daycare Students. 500 school children from 13 Daycare centers Mandaue City were given school bags loaded with school supplies. This project was chosen because it is aligned wit the chapter’s advocacy, which is building daycare classrooms for the children of Mandaue City.

The goal is to make 500 kids happy and excited to go to school when classes start on July while at the same time, promoting primary education for the daycare students ages 3-5 years old because these are the formative years in a child’s development.

On top of the bags distributions, the kids also enjoyed an indoor playground specially procured for the event and we’re treated to local ice cream, and donuts courtesy of Dunkin Donuts. While CSWS gave slippers for the kids and food for the parents of the students.

It was very organized and all the partners and members contributed in making this project a success. We were able to put smiles in the kid’s faces and seeing this makes all of our hard work, worth it. The project was featured at Sunstar, Cebu Daily News and inews.ph
