Brave Ones
Guiding young lives in conflict with the law toward healing, self-awareness, and a second chance at a better future.
Brave Ones is JCI Mandaue’s developmental intervention program focused on Children in Conflict with the Law (CICL) in Cebu City, designed to support their emotional, mental, and personal growth while navigating rehabilitation. Recognizing that many of these young individuals carry unseen burdens, trauma, and difficult life experiences, the program creates safe spaces where they can begin the process of understanding themselves, rebuilding their confidence, and finding healthier ways to respond to life’s challenges.
Through focused sessions on emotional well-being, mental resilience, anger and emotion management, and self-awareness, Brave Ones equips participants with practical tools to better understand and control their emotions. The program also strengthens their knowledge of juvenile justice, their rights, and their responsibilities, helping them become more aware of their place in society and the legal system. Complementing this is support for recreational and developmental activities, promoting a holistic approach to rehabilitation that balances healing, learning, and positive engagement. More than intervention, Brave Ones is about restoring hope and reminding every young person that their past does not define the future they can still build.
Objectives
To support the emotional and mental well-being of CICLs through guided learning and self-development sessions.
To educate participants on juvenile justice, their rights, and their responsibilities as part of their rehabilitation journey.
To promote holistic recovery and positive growth through recreation, engagement, and life-skills support.
