MandaWE Build
JCI Mandaue's flagship build program, raising Day Care Centers across Cebu so the youngest learners start school with a roof, a desk, and a real head start.
In too many of our barangays, the earliest classrooms are borrowed corners, leaking sheds, or no room at all. MandaWE Build answers that gap by raising proper Day Care Centers where little learners can be safe, fed, and ready to grow. Now in its 7th year, the program has put learning within reach of 210 children across four Day Care Centers and counting.
The Merry Men don't just hand over keys and leave. We design, fund, and build alongside the communities we serve, then keep showing up: each center is built with facilities for gender development and community support, and the work extends into livelihood training for members of the LGBTQ and Badjao communities so families can stand on their own. Brotherhood with purpose means lifting the whole household, not just the child.
Right now we're building our fourth center for the Badjao community in Sitio Alaska, Mambaling, Cebu City — a milestone reached despite a three-year pandemic delay that pushed timelines but never the mission. Across seven years, the program has generated ₱5.6 million in funds, every peso poured into floors, walls, and futures.
The goal is bold and we mean it: eight Day Care Centers across Cebu, Mandaue, and Talisay. Four down, four to go — and a generation of kids who'll remember that someone built a place just for them to learn.
