Shelf-Made Success

Building stronger community enterprises by transforming sari-sari stores into smarter and more sustainable businesses.

Shelf-Made Success is JCI Mandaue’s community-based entrepreneurship initiative focused on uplifting women sari-sari store owners, recognizing their vital role as household providers, decision-makers, and economic drivers within their communities. Many of these women carry the weight of both family and business, turning small neighborhood stores into lifelines for daily living. The program exists to strengthen that foundation by equipping them with the knowledge and confidence to manage their stores more effectively and sustainably.

Through practical training on smart shelving strategies, financial literacy, inventory management, pricing, and customer retention, Shelf-Made Success helps women entrepreneurs transform their sari-sari stores into stronger and more profitable enterprises. In partnership with International Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (IPI), the initiative creates a support ecosystem that combines education, mentorship, and access to better business practices. Beyond improving sales, the program invests in the growth of women as empowered entrepreneurs, proving that when women thrive in business, entire communities move forward with them.

Objectives

To empower women sari-sari store owners with practical business knowledge and entrepreneurial confidence.

To improve financial management, shelving strategies, and store operations for sustainable growth.
